Not through this site, and not by email before there is an engagement. Nothing sent this way is confidential, and sending it does not create an attorney-client relationship or any duty to keep it.

Send the patent number instead. That much is public, it is enough to start a conflicts check, and it costs you nothing if the answer is that this belongs with somebody else.

What happens on a first call?

Mostly questions. What arrived, when it arrived, what the product does, and who built it. By the end of it you should know what kind of problem you have and roughly what the next month looks like, whoever ends up handling it. If it belongs with a different lawyer, that is worth finding out in the first hour rather than the third month.

None. The only clock that matters is the one on your case, and it belongs to a court rather than to anybody's calendar. Call when it is useful to call.
